Arts Development work
Halton Borough Council’s Arts Development comprises of a team who specialise in:
- Music
- Visual Arts
- Dance
- Drama & Literature
The team’s roles include programming professional performances, film, special events and exhibitions for The Brindley, with development work taking place across the borough.
Based at The Brindley in Runcorn, they work in partnership with schools, colleges, community groups and local agencies to develop projects and long term strategic planning to enable greater access to the arts for all.
Aim
The Arts Development Team strives to create high quality artistic opportunities offering inspiration, education, employment and entertainment through engagement with the arts.
What Do They Do?
- Create opportunities for people to get involved with the arts whatever their age or ability
- Build partnerships between individuals, groups, members of the community and artists to develop their skills
- Promote high quality work by organising professional performances, films, exhibitions, workshops and training events
- Build new audiences and help to change peoples views about how the arts can be used
- Attract extra funding to increase arts opportunities
- Work in partnership with non-arts based organisations to develop arts work
- Provide and develop information to support local and regional arts issues
- Develop employment and training opportunities for local artists
